SOLAR PANELS

SOLAR PANEL INSTALLATION

Solar panels are becoming more and more popular meaning more and more solar panel installations are happening on a daily basis.

The most common location for the installation of solar PV panels is the roof. Most roofs typically have the desired specifications for the installation, so that panels get the maximum sunlight. Although, if installation on the roof is not applicable or desired, the solar panels could also be mounted on the ground. You just need to make sure that there are no objects blocking access to the sun.

Our installation process

Stage 1

Site survey

We will come and do a site survey free of charge discussing what you would like from the system and answer any questions you may have. We will take measurements of your roof, visually check your electrical system and check for a suitable location for the inverter and battery, if requested.

Stage 2

Specialised software to generate report

using state-of-the-art software to visualise the path of the sun, and where to best position the panels

Stage 3

Free no obligation quote

If you are happy with the quote that is provided to you, you will need to sign and return the contract. Once this is received we will be able to confirm a provisional installation date with you.

Stage 4

Provisional installation date

Current lead times from suppliers is 6 - 8 weeks and full installation approximately takes 3 - 5 days depending on the size of the project.

Stage 5

Prepare for installation

erect scaffolding to ensure safety during the whole installation process when being on the roof. Then, the solar panel mounting system has to be set up. This will support the base of the solar panels.

Stage 6

Begin installation

When the mounts are set up, the solar panel itself has to be installed on the mounting structure. Make sure to tighten up all the bolts and nuts so that it stays stable.

Stage 7

Connect the solar panels

The next step in the installation process is to install the electrical wiring. In most cases, MC4 connectors are used because they are suited for all types of solar panels. Make sure to shut off the household’s electricity supply during the wiring installation.

Stage 8

Project completion

The final step is to switch the power on and test the newly installed solar panel system. After that, the solar panel installation process is completed.
